Don't Drop Your Laptop

So earlier in the summer I made the mistake of trying to pick up both Katelyn and my laptop at the same time and the end result was that I dropped my laptop. :( Sadly, it didn't work after that. So I took it into the Apple store yesterday and found out that my hard drive is totally done for. And because we never quite got around to getting an external hard drive to back everything up on that means all our pictures and everything are gone. :( I'm going to send it to a data recovery specialist to see if it's possible to get anything off but even if they can it will probably cost $1000 or more. So first off if any of you have pictures of Katelyn that aren't on our blog I would love to get them from you and also if you don't already back up your computer some how I would strongly recommend that you do so.

Oh no... I hope other people have some good photos! I don't know if the data recovery will cost $1000 though, that seems a bit high.

If you don't want to invest in an external hard drive, you can sign up for online backup services, which basically backup your data to a secure server, where you can later download it back if your computer crashes. I only have experience with Mozy.com, and it works really well. $4.95/month I think.

Good luck! Better to drop a laptop than your baby! :)

That is awful. I'd say whatever the price to try and restore it is totally worth it to get the pictures of Katelyn! I'm so sorry. We bought an external hard drive at Best Buy for around $80 and it works great, so I would definitely get one soon! Call me soon.

Google saves all the pictures that you put on your blog. At least, they do mine. Also, I save all my pictures in Picasa online because our computer crashed once and we lost a months worth of pictures, not much, but I was still freaking out.

Just in case you don't ever look at your google account, here is how you find your blog pictures...

Log on to Google. On the top left of the page there are several link buttons. Click on the one that says MORE with an arrow pointing down. Then click on the one that says PHOTOS. And there you have all your blogged pictures!
